Getting Ready – Keep It Simple

  • Shower and throw your hair in a bun or side pony instead of blow drying and curling
  • Foundation, powder and mascara only instead of full-blown makeup
  • Lay your outfit out the night before and TRY IT ON so there are no surprises, just dress and go

My mother always told me, it hurts to be beautiful. Well…getting ready for work meetings today didn’t necessarily hurt – but it sure as hell took a long time. It’s fun to dress up for client meetings and networking events, but I feel really fortunate to be able to work in a laid-back city and business/casual work environment, where suits and heels aren’t always required.

Hair and makeup can be a real pain sometimes, am I right ladies? In my business life, I’ve been trying to do less blow drying & curling and more throwing it up in a professional looking bun. For makeup, less eye liner and blush and just foundation and mascara. It saves a lot of time and enhances my natural beauty.

Another huge time saver – simply picking out, trying on, and laying out your outfit(s) for the next day.  For me, that means my workout outfit for 4:45 am, my outfit for work, and potentially an after work outfit if I have an evening work event to attend.

Life is complicated enough.  Simplify your morning routine and watch your life improve drastically.
