An Organized Fridge Saves Time

An organized fridge makes meal time much more efficient! I have made it a habit to clean out my fridge on a weekly basis as far as food and expiration dates, etc. and quarterly for a thorough cleansing. I decided to introduce storage bins to my fridge and it has really simplified and organized it to another level! Here is my step by step guide to cleaning and organizing with storage bins.

Step 1: EMPTY THE FRIDGE AND THROW AWAY ANYTHING QUESTIONABLE

Step 2: THE THOROUGH CLEANING

Clean all shelves and drawers in a large sink with soap and water or use a safe cleaner to wipe down to remove all the nasty things that can build up! Don’t forget the rubber seal along the door! This is where stuff likes to collect.

Step 3: ADJUST YOUR SHELVES

Lets face it, most of us like to buy the same brands (with the same packaging) over and over again, taking time to set your shelves and drawers accordingly will save you time in the long run.

Step 4: GROUP SIMILAR ITEMS TOGETHER

Before placing items back into fridge, simply organize by categories. Put things like condiments, drinks, fruits, veggies, salad dressings and snacks together and decide best location to place back in fridge. Consider which items you want to place in side door bins and place those items first.

I purchased the following set from Amazon: STORAGE BINS
